into the world of the darkest night
I’m always clinging to the morning light
Running away from the jagged knife
But I can dance with the angels in the pale moon light

Swing low boy, sink down into the muddy river,
to a place where a child died
Feel a shiver, turn the ashes in the bloody water,
touch a place where it hurts inside
Sometimes I wonder if I can go on
Sliding down into that same sad song
But I can dance with the Angels in the crimson dawn

I long to find that hero inside
To slay the dragons that hold me so tight
