about

Let's Fall Down is the ninth track off the upcoming album ShadowLight by singer-songwriter Forrest Hill. It is a song about the power of honesty and forgiveness in relationships. Like Bon Iver’s "Skinny Love," Let’s Fall Down has a sentimentality that is bittersweet and vulnerable. The sound combines cellos, piano, bass, percussion, guitar, and background vocals by the fabulous T Sisters to give this indie folk song a lush heartfelt style.

lyrics

Let’s Fall Down
By Forrest Hill

There’s a tear in my dresser drawer
Full of fear from a thousand wars
I keep my shame behind these iron doors
Afraid to let you in
Now I remember there was a time
When we would hold each other and cry
And in our sorrow, we came alive
Let’s fall down again

Let’s fall down again
Let our love descend
Into the garden of the pale moon light
Past the walls of original sin
Let’s fall down, fall down again

I’ve seen that sorrow upon you face
Take your thoughts to another place
And in that silence, you just float away
With nothing to defend
And I just sit there in my pain and know
The truth we hide kills our very soul
Love is found where the dark weeds grow
Let’s fall down again

Let’s fall down again
Let our love descend
Into the garden of the pale moon light
Past the walls of original sin
Let’s fall down, fall down again

And the clock is beating out the time
With the radio tonight.
Is it better to deny, then break down and cry
And put an end to all this fussy and fighting

We can pretend like we just meet
Ignore the tune of the dark poet
But if we part we may both regret
The words we never said
So come on girl let’s take that ride
Under the stones where the damp earth lies
And put an end to these alibies
Let’s fall down again

Let’s fall down again
Let our love descend
Into the garden of the pale moon light
Past the walls of original sin
Let’s fall down, fall down again
Past the walls of original sin
Let’s fall down, fall down again
